Marie Séférian is one of the most esteemed European jazz singers; she has been winning over audiences and critics alike for years with her charisma, voice and well thought-out musical concepts. Growing up in a musical household, she began playing the violin at the age of three, later adding piano and singing. She studied at the Jazz Institute in Berlin and has received several awards during her career, including a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and first prize at the Berlin Jazz Prize. She is now a busy soloist and jazz educator, works with various ensembles worldwide and teaches at workshops and various renowned institutes, including the Berlin University of the Arts.
