Igor Osypov: Hyper Oz
“Hyper Oz“ is a sonic adventure: captivating soundscapes flow effortlessly from quirky, syncopated beats into clear, melodic verses and choruses. Crackling synth sounds weave through the tracks, complemented by an impressive range of guitar tones – from smooth, masterful neo-soul to raw, cutting-edge riffs. The vocals dance between ethereal falsettos and dynamic rap segments, while vintage piano and voice samples lend the album a nostalgic tape vibe. Punchy bass lines and crisp drums lock in the fluid, odd groove. Ukrainian guitarist and composer Igor Osypov – responsible for guitar, composition and production – has long become a distinct voice across jazz, indie-rock and fusion; his playing „with blood and guts“ brings a „fresh and complete concept“ (allaboutjazz.com) to stages and clubs around the world.
