The duo Phinnamon stands for music in its most concentrated form: voice and piano, reduced to the essentials. Winnie Brückner and Philipp Cieslewicz play songs that move them—ranging from Radiohead, Soundgarden, and the Punch Brothers to selected jazz standards and original compositions.

At the heart of their performance is spontaneous, shared creation in the moment. The two approach each piece attentively, with a deep sensitivity for sound, text, and atmosphere. Familiar songs are heard anew, musical lines unfold freely, and the openness of their interplay continuously reveals fresh nuances.

This reduction shapes the duo’s overall sound: clear, intimate, and transparent. Voice, piano, and the acoustic space enter into a close dialogue—sometimes delicate and restrained, sometimes powerful and intense, but always marked by closeness and presence.

The name Phinnamon—derived from Philipp and Winnie and inspired by the word "cinnamon"—symbolizes warmth, tone color, and an unassuming presence. Chamber-music precision merges with improvisational openness, melancholy with groove, and clarity with depth.

The result is music that is immediate in its impact and long-lasting in its resonance.
