CAMBIA – Hypnotic Bass Loops

One double bass, loops, effects – and a groove that gradually takes over the room.

CAMBIA creates a hypnotic, danceable sound world where intensity meets quiet depth. Layered grooves, flowing sounds and electronic textures emerge from a single instrument: the double bass, complemented by sounds from everyday objects transformed into new textures through looping. While the music may initially sound electronic, every sound and layer remains rooted in the instrument itself.

Drawing on musical influences ranging from South American folklore and indie to electronic music, CAMBIA develops its own language, focusing on groove rather than virtuoso solos. It is music to sink into, dance to and let go – until everyday life fades and a trance-like state emerges.

After years of performing across South America, China and Europe, Marcel Krömker brings his experience in improvisation and his sensitivity to space directly into the project. Nothing is completely predetermined: the music emerges in the moment and evolves together with the room and the people in it.

CAMBIA is not simply something to listen to, but something to experience – an invitation for musicians and audience to share a moment, let go and briefly be somewhere else.

Dirk Flatau – Aufwind

In his new solo programme Aufwind, Berlin-based pianist and composer Dirk Flatau invites audiences into a world of intuitive ideas, impulses and utopian visions.

Influenced by minimal music, impressionist classical music, pop culture and folklore, his music evokes underwater journeys, flights through distant galaxies, or simply a personal cinema of the mind.

With a focus on clear, energetic melodies and rhythms, Aufwind marks a new chapter for Flatau. After many years as a bandleader, arranger and accompanist, he now steps into the spotlight as a soloist, exploring new ways of composing, listening and playing through an uncompromising connection with his instrument.
